About Loevi

Why we choose real leather?

In a world dominated by fast fashion and throwaway trends, we believe in slowing down and creating with intention. Every year, over 8 million tons of plastic waste end up in our oceans. Many fast-fashion brands rely on cheap, synthetic materials like faux leather and polyester, products that break down quickly, overflow landfills, and release harmful microplastics into the environment.

At Loevi, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, that’s why we focus on durable, high-quality materials that stand the test of time. Real leather, when sourced responsibly, not only lasts for years but also ages beautifully, reducing the need for constant replacements.

By choosing natural over plastic, we take a step towards a more sustainable future—one where fashion is made to be loved and to last!

Ethical sourcing

When sourced ethically, leather is a byproduct of the food industry, meaning no animals are harmed or raised solely for their hides. Instead of letting this valuable material go to waste, we choose to give it a new purpose.

Every piece we create carries a story, one of thoughtful sourcing, quality, and respect for both people and the planet.

Why produce in Bali?

With my Indonesian roots, I always felt a pull toward Indonesia, but it wasn’t until I finally traveled there that everything clicked. I reconnected with distant family members, immersed myself in the culture, and completely fell in love with the country.

Living in Bali long-term opened my eyes to the incredible craftsmanship here, artisans who pour their heart and soul into their work but often struggle to get the recognition they deserve. Along the way, I’ve met some truly talented makers, each with their own story and skillset, yet limited opportunities to grow their businesses.

At Loevi, one of our biggest goals is to support these artisans by providing them with a platform to share their craft with the world. We believe in fair pricing, ethical production, and celebrating the hands behind every piece we create.

Who is Loevi?

Hi there, I’m Lulu! I’m 26 years old and originally from the Netherlands. My mom is from Medan, Indonesia, and while I grew up far from her homeland, I always felt a deep connection to it. In 2019, I decided to take a leap, travel there on my own, and explore my roots.

Fast forward to today, and I’m living in Bali, surrounded by the culture and energy that inspires me every day. Creativity has always been a huge part of who I am, especially when it comes to fashion. It’s been a lifelong dream to build my own brand, something that truly reflects my vision and passion.

Through my work, I hope to connect with like-minded people who share the same love for creativity, style, and self-expression. If that sounds like you, then welcome—you’re in the right place!
